Fleischmann, John E. "Jack" - Age 87 of Houston, TX, formerly of Fenton, MI, died June 19, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton from 4-8 PM on Friday. John "Jack" was born Sept. 1, 1930 with his twin sister, Josephine, to Andrew and Jennie (Wisniewski) Fleischmann in Flint, MI. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1949. In 1954, he received his bachelors in Industrial Engineering from General Motor's Institute, now Kettering University, in Flint. He worked for General Motors Corporation for 42 years until retirement from Chevrolet Flint Metal Fabricating. Jack was a resident of Fenton, MI for 43 years before moving to Houston, TX in 2016 to be near his daughter and family. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton for 43 years until becoming a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble, TX. His hobbies included watching sports on TV, fishing, and his baby '66 Chevy Malibu. Mr. Fleischmann was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Macciomei and Josephine Fleischmann, and wife, Marilyn (Hilsabeck). He is survived by: daughter, Joanna (James) Luce; grandsons, Jordan and Jonathan of Houston, TX; brother-in -law and sister-in-law, Orley and Rosemary Hilsabeck as well as several nieces and nephews.
