John N. FETTERS, Sr.

FETTERS, John N. Sr. - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, Flint Twp. and Grand Blanc, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at The Pines of Swartz Creek. Funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Monday, August 3, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Timothy Speckman officiating. Burial immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be on Monday from 12 Noon until the time of service. Contributions may be made to the Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan, 100 Wall St., Ann Arbor, MI 48105. Mr. Fetters was born February 18, 1920 in Kahoka, MO, the son of Nicholas E. and Edith I. (Schreck) Fetter. He married Gladys E. Ihrke in 1947 and she preceded him in death in 1955. He then married Lillian Majeski in 1957 and she preceded him in death in 1998. Mr. Fetters retired in 1975 from Fisher Body I with 30 years of service. Surviving are: 3 children, Linda and husband Lynn Luther of Swartz Creek, John Fetters and Becky Wenzel of Howell, Cathy Fetters of Fenton; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey and wife Karla Hall of Freeland, Mackenzie and husband Richard Neal of Washington State, Jessica and husband Justin Pipkin of Plano, TX, John N. Fetters III of Flint, Jason Fetters of Phoenix, AZ; 3 great-grandchildren, Curtis, Devon and Brianna; favorite nieces and nephews, Phyllis Chambliss, Jim Chambliss, Donald Chambliss, Ronald Chambliss and Dorothy and Vernon Wiethop. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leo Fetter; and sister, Marie Chambliss.
