John Elmore

ELMORE, John J. - Age 81, of Montrose, passed away February 14, 2020.  Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, February 21, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel,  8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation 2 PM - 8 PM Thursday. Mr. Taylor Wright officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the family.

John was born November 9, 1938 in Lupton, MI, the son of John and Annie (Robertson) Elmore. He married Shirley J. Smith August 1, 1964. John proudly served in the U.S. National Guard. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. John enjoyed learning about animals and nature. He was hard working and passionate about working with his hands. John built several homes including his family home, which he finished in 1971. He loved a good cup of coffee and was always quick to offer a meal to family and friends

He is survived by children: John E. Elmore, Debra (Doug) Yerian, and Connie Wright; grandchildren: Dr. Laura (Michael) Walawender, Taylor (Sarah) Wright, Steven Yerian, Dr. Courtney (Nick Moeller) Wright; great-grandchildren: Emmett Cooper Walawender, Samuel Hugh Wright; siblings: Florence Giessinger, Harold (Clare) Elmore, Emma (John) Gall; several nieces and nephews.
