John Duty

DUTY, John Leonard- Age 66, of Flint, died Wednesday April 28, 2021. A celebration of life will be held 3 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Flint Eagles 629, 2149 Dort Hwy, Flint 48506. A dinner will follow at 5PM with a cash bar and music going all evening. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery 11AM July 28, 2021. John was born July 28, 1954 in Boston, MA, the son of Arthur and Rita (Bourgeois) Duty. John proudly served his country in the US Navy.  He retired from AC Spark Plug and Delphi with 30.3 years of service. John enjoyed playing softball, golfing, fishing, hunting, and especially hanging out with family and friends. Surviving are: sons, Dave (Janice) Sova of Montrose, Zach Duty of Chicago; grandchildren, Daeton Byars, Alexia, Amilia Sova; sisters, KeeKee (Mike) Roberts, Patty (Sonny) Hoxie, Sue (Rick) Crawford all of MA, Sheila (Ron) Lash of Clio, Lisa Duty of MA; brother, Dennis (Kathy) Duty of MA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rita Duty; siblings, Danny, Shirley, Joey, Debbie, and Stevie. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
