DeCEW, John E. "Jack" - Age 76, of Fenton, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at his residence. Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 12:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice or a charity of one's choice. John was born March 3, 1935 in Flint, the son of Donald B. and Ardis K. (Berkman) DeCew. He was a 1953 graduate of Flint Central High School. He married Lois E. Collins May 2, 1953 in Flint. John owned and operated Hallmark Insurance Agency in Grand Blanc. He was a member of Spring Meadows Country Club and various insurance organizations. He was an avid golfer, woodworker, fisherman, boater and a wonderful friend. He wintered in Briny Breezes, FL. John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lois; 2 children, Michael and wife Judy DeCew of Superior, CO and Lori and husband Brad Keller of Fenton; 4 grandchildren, Alison Keller, Emily Keller, Christine DeCew O'Neill and Kyle and wife Amanda Sanborn; 2 great grandchildren, Abigail and Ryan; sister, Linda DeCew of Sutton Bay; sister-in-law, Mary Foote of Grand Blanc; several nieces and nephews.
