John A. Cotterman

COTTERMAN, John A - age 78, of Grand Blanc, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Genesys Hospice Center.  Funeral services will be held at 3PM Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating.  Interment in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-5 and 7-9PM and Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer's Association or Genesys Hospice.  Mr. Cotterman was born January 2, 1925 to Archie and Emma (Rose) Cotterman in Flint.  He attended Northern High School and then served in the US Army during WWII.  He retired from General Motors Fisher Body in skilled trades.  He married Shirley M. Soderblom in Flint on February 8, 1947.  They resided in Fenton most of his life and after his retirement spent time in Houghton Lake and Florida.  He was a past member of Fenton Presbyterian Church and Fenton V.F.W. Curtis Wolverton Post 3243.  Surviving are his wife, Shirley; children, Linda and husband Bill Hall of Linden, Fred Hall of Grand Blanc, Cindy Cotterman of Flint, John and wife Patty Cotterman of Colorado Springs, CO, and Gail Cotterman of Austin, TX; and 7 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters.  Friends may share their online condolences for the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
