CARUANA, John Thomas - Age 79, of Fenton, passed away August 3, 2021. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Robert Copeland Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with a Rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10AM until the time of Mass Saturday at church. Those desiring may make contributions to Maryknoll Missionaries (maryknollsociety.org). John was born August 18, 1941 in Detroit, the son of Joseph and Anne. He moved to Willis with his family as a teenager, graduating from Ypsilanti High school later serving in the Michigan National Guard.  John retired from the Archdiocese of Detroit, where he worked at Holy Name Catholic Church in Birmingham for 28 years. He was in the Triumph motorcycle business for over 50 years; owning his own sales and service shop and was affectionately known as "Mr. Clean" by his customers for the excellent quality of the vintage parts he sold. John never knew a stranger. He was kind-hearted with a great sense of humor. John exemplified a deep faith and shared it with all who he encountered. John was a model of generous service volunteering for years with St. Vincent DePaul and praying tirelessly for family, friends, and people in need. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vicki; daughter, Crystal (David); son, Scott (Karen); four grandchildren, mother, Anne; and his three siblings, many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who were like family.
