CARPENTER, John W., age 42, a resident of Burton, died at home Thursday, June 9, 2005.  John was born in Flint on March 25, 1963 the son of William D.and Mary E. (Hummel) Carpenter.  He has been an area resident all his life. John graduated from Atherton High School Class of 1981.  He has been employed as a mechanic for National Roofing Co. the past 14 years.  John was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.  He loved the outdoors, motorcycling, motorsports,  along with fishing and being a good  father and he was  a hard worker in all his pursuits. He also was a certified diesel mechanic and a licensed builder.   Surviving are his children; Jacob, and Jessica. Also surviving are his parents William and  Mary (Elaine) Carpenter, a sister Mary Anne Filka and husband Joe, a brother Joe Carpenter and wife Cindy, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a special friend, Rhonda Hawley.  Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 460 W. Atherton Rd.  Pastor Timothy Speckman officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.)  from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday,  Monday from 12 noon to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M.   John will be taken  Tuesday to the church to lie in state from 10:00 A.M. to service time.   Memorials in Johns name may be given to an education fund for his children.   Friends may share online condolences or post tributes at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
