CAMPBELL, John Herman - Age 87, of Linden, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with Mr. Harold Plummer officiating. Burial immediately following at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time of service. John was born April 13, 1923 in Whitfield County, GA, the son of John J. and Lucy (Capehart) Campbell. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Air Force. He married Agnes Eleanor July 20, 1946 in Georgia and she preceded him in death October 31, 1997. John retired in 1998 from Atlas Automation and had worked for Sutter Products in Holly and Dearborn for 25 years. He was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church, Fenton Lakes Sportsman Club, American Legion, Eastern Stars, Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Surviving are: daughter, Deborah and son-in-law, George Elliott of Inkster; 2 grandchildren, Felicia Porter of Atlanta, GA and Alexander Porter of Inkster; 4 great grandchildren, Destiny, Ryan, Divine and Faith; dear friend, Janet Ellsworth; brother, James Campbell of Los Alamos, NM; beloved cousins, Ray "Edgar" and Clayton "Chuck" Capehart; his adopted family, the Stutzman's, Judi, John, Michelle, Cheryl and Karen; several nieces and nephews.
