BUGIS, John Anthony "Johnny" - Age 67, of Port Orange, FL, died Saturday, June 4, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St. Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
Johnny was born June 11, 1954 in Flint, the son of Anthony John and Helen Louise (Jozwik) Bugis. He was a 1972 graduate of Hartland High School; He received Associates Degree's from Oakland Community College and Schoolcraft College in Hotel Management and Dietitian. He had been employed by Nashville Memorial, Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center, Richland Place, and Greenbrier Retirement Center as the Food Service Director and Richland Place as a chef. He also was a food critic for the Tennessean Food Magazine. Johnny enjoyed dancing, playing cards, eating out, and going to movies.
Surviving are: his mother: Helen; siblings, Mary Jo (Joel) Kowall of Holly, Roseanne (Harold) Bennett of Howell, Edward (Penny) Bugis of Highland, Anthony (Rose Marie) Bugis of Holly; and several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mary, Brion, Stevie, and Don.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Bugis; and sister, Diane Ross. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
