John Bowen

BOWEN, John Henry - age 81 of Swartz Creek, died December 28, 2022. A memorial service will be held 12 PM Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Interment will follow service at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 12 PM Thursday at the funeral home. John was born October 1, 1941, in Pontiac, the son of James and Wilma (Lemke) Bowen. He was a 1961 graduate of Fenton High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1961-1965. John married Patricia Settle on November 1, 1985. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service. Surviving are: wife, Patricia Bowen; children, Shari (Marianne) Ballard of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kimberly (Michael) Miller of Grand Rapids, Carynne (Robert) VanWoert of Oscoda, Barbara (Joseph) Harper of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Mikel Miller, Henry Tobias, and Ethan Harper; brother, David Bowen of Durand; sister, Jean (James) Nichols of Lake Fenton.
