BOHL, John Allan  Age 53, of Columbia, SC, formerly of Flint, died Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Richland Hospital, Columbia, SC. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint with Fr. Roy Horning officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be held from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to an Educational Fund for his grandchildren. John was born September 13, 1951 in Flint, the son of Jacob Paul and Margaret Peggy Lillian (Nadeau) Bohl. He was a 1969 graduate of St. Michael Catholic School in Flint, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan Flint in 1977 and was the manager of the U of M bookstore for many years. John was currently studying for his Masters Degree in Education at the University of South Carolina. John was a substitute teacher in Columbia, S.C. He loved all U of M sports but especially loved his children and grandchildren. John was a proud father and grandfather and a wonderful brother, uncle and friend. He was quick witted and had a great sense of humor but mostly was a kind hearted man to everyone he met. Surviving are: son, John Bradford Bohl of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Rebecca Bohl of Flint; two grandchildren, Tyler and Paige Baxter; brother, Jeffrey Bohl and wife, Marcia of Dexter; two sisters, Deborah and husband, Rudy Teichman of Durand, Sally Ann Tremblay of Flushing; life partner, Dr. Victoria Oglan of Columbia, SC/Windsor, Ontario, Canada; former wife and mother of his children, Dorie and husband, Brian Barkey of Flint; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; many dear friends.
