BOHL, John Bradford- Age 37, of Flint formerly of Albany, NY and Alexandria, VA, died August 2, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church 711 Saginaw Street, Flint. Fr. Dan Scheid officiating. Visitation will be held from 3PM- 5PM and 7PM- 9PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint, and 10 AM Saturday at Saint Paul's until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Cathedral of All Saints Music Program, 62 S. Swan St., Albany, NY John was born May 24, 1981 in Flint, the son of John Alan Bohl and Doris Marie Barkey. He was a 1999 graduate of Flint Southwestern Academy. He was a multi-faceted musician, working as a conductor, organist, singer, accompanist, and coach. In his short life, John had an extensive career, working most recently as Associate Organist at the Cathedral of All Saints in Albany, NY. Previously, John served for ten years at St. Paul's Parish, K Street in Washington DC, first as Assistant Director of Music and then as Interim Director of Music. From 2005-2007 he was Assistant Organist and Choirmaster at Old St. Paul's Church in Baltimore, MD. A native of Flint, MI, he studied organ with G. Donald Kaye, his teacher and mentor, before going on to Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He previously served as the Associate Conductor of The Washington Chorus (2011-2013). He made his Kennedy Center debut in a performance of The Lark by Leonard Bernstein with The Washington Chorus in November 2012. He performed regularly with the choirs of the Washington National Cathedral. He is survived by his mother, Doris Marie Barkey; step father, Brian Barkey; sister, Rebecca (Jason) Faber; nieces and nephews, Tyler, Paige, Lyla and Hayden; aunts and uncles; special friends, Brandon Dumas and Rees Kirkorian. He is preceded in death by his father, John Alan Bohl; grandparents, James and Norma Clodfelter; and Jacob and Margaret Bohl. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
