ASHLEY, John Ryan - Age 28, of Linden, went home to be with the Lord, October 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 7 at Parkview Baptist Church, 9355 Stark Rd., Livonia. Pastor Steve Brown officiating. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Monday and Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton; and 10-11 AM Wednesday at the church. Committal service 4 PM Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Those desiring may make contributions to the John Ryan Ashley Memorial Fund (c/o Sharp Funeral Homes) Johnny was born May 1, 1987 in Southfield, MI to John and Joann (Ponkiewski) Ashley. He graduated in 2008 from the Michigan School for the Deaf. Johnny made such an impact on the faculty and students around him during his time there, that MSD established the John Ashley Inspiration Award in his honor, which is awarded yearly. Once you met Johnny, you would never forget him. He touched the lives of the doctors, nurses, teachers, and friends around him along with anyone he ever met. Simply put, he lit up every room he walked into and his bravery was unforgettable. Surviving are: parents, John and Joann; brothers, Bob (Rebekah) of Fenton, Jason (Kristin) of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Ryan, Evan, and Nixon; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
