ALLISON, John Gerald "Jerry" - age 65, of Flushing, formerly of Gaines and Swartz Creek, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Jim Noble officiating. Interment will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12-9 PM Wednesday and 11 AM until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the John Gerald Allison Memorial Fund, which will be given to charity. Mr. Allison was born September 26, 1942 in Flint Twp., the son of John A. and Mary Lou (Daly) Allison. He was a 1960 graduate of Gaines High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Sandra Lane in 1985 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint. Mr. Allison worked at Fisher Body #1 for many years and retired from GM Truck and Bus. He was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Flushing. Mr. Allison loved sports, especially, baseball which he played in Gaines and in the Linden Kiwanis League. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family at their home on N. Dease Lake, golfing with friends and wintering in Florida. Â John's greatest joy was spending time with his six grandchildren. Surviving are: wife, Sandra of Flushing; four children, Cindy (David) Isham of Madison Heights, Jennifer (Andrew) Zalinski of Comstock Park, Vicki Allison (Staci) of Lansing, Jeffrey Lane (Kari) of Flint; six grandchildren, Abbie, Hannah, Tyler, Luke, John, and Jack; ex-wife and friend, Maxine (Gib) DuBois; mother, Mary Lou Wilson of Durand; six sisters, Connie (David) Boyden, Kathie (Gary) Cox, Sandi (Ron) Dufresne, Sharon (Phil) Koerber, Karen Carr, Kim (Brad) Robison; many special nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. His father, John A. Allison, mother, Ida Leland, stepfather, H.P. Wilson, and sister, Jackie Fernelius preceded him in death.
