ROBINSON, Joel Rogers, age 61, of Fenton, died while hiking in the Red Rock Mountains of St. George, Utah, as he loved to do, on Friday March 3, 2006. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Friday, March 10, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. Pastor David W. Truran officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 6-9PM Thursday at the funeral home. Because of his love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to Fenton Adopt-A-Pet, 300 E. Ellen St, Fenton, MI 48430. Joel was born July 25, 1944, in Flint, the son of Milton and Eugenia (Jackson) Robinson. He was a member of the first graduating class of Lake Fenton High School in 1963. Joel married Donna Jean Ralph on August 6, 1966, in Flint. Until his retirement in 1998, Joel was employed by General Motors, as a skilled tradesman. Joel loved golfing and was a member of Clio Country Club. In addition, he had a great passion for hiking and skiing in the Red Rock Mountains of Utah. He was a tidy man who often was referred to as 'Mr. Clean'. Joel enjoyed time with his grand-dog, Denver, insisting she came to his house each day for 'dog-sitting' while Mom and Dad worked. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Donna Jean of Fenton; loyal daughter, Lori Scheller and husband Jerry of Linden; 2 step-grandchildren, Erica Scheller of Stockbridge, Daniel 'DJ' Scheller of Stockbridge; grand-dog, Denver; 2 sisters, Roberta Fogel and husband Charles of Fenton, Judy Leek of Fenton; mother-in-law, Lyndell Ralph of Fenton; 2 sister-in-laws, Bernice Robinson of Flushing, Connie Erfourth and husband Dennis of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maurice Robinson; brother-in-law, Jerry Leek; and father-in-law, Robert Ralph.
