Joe Taylor

TAYLOR, Joe Ralph - age 85, of Flint, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at McLaren - Flint. Services will be held 11 AM Friday, May 1, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Ronald Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor was born July 12, 1929 in Leslie, West Virginia. He was a graduate of Chrichton High School in WV and was a veteran of the USMC serving from 1947-1950. Mr. Taylor retired from Genesee Valley Center as the Operations Manager in 1994 after 25 years of service. He loved his family and was very family oriented. His favorite sayings were "Life with a wife and seven kids" and "Don't be sorry, be good". Mr. Taylor also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. Surviving are: five children, Joe Taylor of Bancroft, Sandy (Patrick) Donohue of Grand Ledge, Melissa Taylor of Lansing, Charla (Pastor Ronald) Nelson San Tan Valley, AZ, Tommy Taylor of Flint; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Claude (Phyllis) Taylor of WV; sister, Amy Barker of AR; many nieces and nephews.
