CASEBOLT, Joe C. - Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, June 18, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday, June 22, 2009 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Burial immediately following at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and at church Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service. A vigil service will be held 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church Elevator Fund. Mr. Casebolt was born January 18, 1924 in Paragould, AR, the son of Sanford and Zella (Butler) Casebolt. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Fisher Body I. Mr. Casebolt was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and Flushing V.F.W. Post #5666. He was very active with the Swartz Creek Senior Center and was a avid bowler, camper and canoer. Surviving are: wife, Sophie; 2 daughters, Darlene and husband Kent Everson of Murphy, TX and Joanne and husband Doug Gardner of Grand Blanc; son, Joe Casebolt, Jr. of Frankfort; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; step daughter, Veronica and husband Craig Morris of Fenton; 2 step daughters-in-law, Lois Durish of Swartz Creek and Sharon Durish of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Donna Casebolt; 3 step sons, Robert, Joseph and Francis Durish; great grandson, Trevor Morris; 9 brothers and sisters.
