Joe BROWN Jr.

BROWN, Joe, Jr. - Age 74, of Montrose, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Durand Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, March 16, 2009 at Good Shepard Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw, Montrose. Fr. Gary McInnis celebrant. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Cystic Fibrosis. Mr. Brown was born August 31, 1934 in Weiner, AR, the son of Joe, Sr. and Bernice (Miller) Brown. He married Nancy Melanson Reeves September 17, 1978 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flint. He retired from Fisher Body Plant I after 34 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed farming and gardening. Surviving are: wife, Nancy; 4 children, Robin Brown of Arizona, Pamela (Gary) Williams of Arizona, Keith (Mercedes) Brown of Texas, Tamara Root; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 4 stepchildren, Anita (Ronald) Bodie of Stanwood, John Reeves of Montrose, Julie (James) Murphy of Montrose, Paul Reeves of Clio; 6 stepgrandchildren; brothers and sisters, Donna Williams of Florida, Zelma (Bill) Burnett of Georgia, Kirby Brown of Georgia, Jerry Brown of Michigan, Wilma (Ed) Petras of Michigan, Rita (Don) Stephens of Alabama, Ted (Lois) Brown of Georgia, Peggy (Steve) Shinall of Georgia and Tim(Pam) Brown of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
