Joanne Smith

SMITH, Joanne P. - age 82, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Springvale Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday, September 23, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Rev. Dr. Mark Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 1 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association. Joanne was born in Flint, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Schade) Smith and was a 1954 graduate of Flint Central High School. She was employed at Prudential Insurance, Maccabees, and retired in 2001 after 24 years and 11 months with General Motors/Delphi. Joanne enjoyed all types of puzzles, lunch and traveling with friends, reading, and photography. She was an exceptional artist. Joanne is survived by: two brothers, Paul (Lillian) Smith of Columbus, OH and Larry (Diane) Smith of Lawrenceburg, KY; one sister, Melba Clapp of Fenton, and numerous nieces and nephews including her godchild Andrew Smith of San Francisco, CA. She was preceded in death by: her parents and brother, Robert (Agnita) Smith.
