HOLMES, JoAnn, age 61 of Burton, Passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 At Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. JoAnn was born March 26, 1949 in Flint the daughter of the late Elmer and Genice (Anderson) Cook. She married Glen Ray Holmes on November 27, 1965 in Flint. JoAnn was employed by Genesee County Sheriff Department until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed going to bingo, shopping, knitting, crocheting, reading and puzzles. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Glen of Burton; 2 daughters, Marjorie Tinnin of Burton, Angela Palmer (Billy) of Grand Blanc; 2 grandchildren, Mallory Hart and Joshua Tinnin of Burton; brother, Elmer Cook (Barbara) of Burton; 3 sisters, Susanne Gray, Barb Davis (Larry) and Gert Greenhaw (Tom) all of Alabama; special friend, Frances Massey; and several nieces and nephews.
