JoAnn was born on March 15, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to John Cecil and Anna Marie Anderson (Burgess). She grew up with love, learning the value of family, community, and faith. She attended John Glenn High School in Westland, JoAnn’s commitment to caring for others was a theme that followed her throughout her life. She married her beloved husband, Stephen Howard Beggs, on July 31, 1993, in Westland. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion until Stephen's passing in 2009.
JoAnn had recently made her home in Holly after spending many years in Westland. She was a dedicated private caregiver, always seeking to bring comfort and joy to those in her care. In her spare time, JoAnn indulged in her many creative talents. She found peace and happiness in crafting, sewing, knitting, and embroidering, creating beautiful works of art with her hands. Her green thumb was evident in her lovingly tended garden, where she grew outdoor plants, nurturing life wherever she went.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, remembered by her children Dana Reed of Woodhaven, Angela (Keith) Kirby of Hartland, Daniel (Regina) Robinson, Jr. of Holly, and Suzanne (Rocky) Geraty of Linden. JoAnn's love also extended to her 13 grandchildren: Breanne, Darren, Marissa, Kaitlynn, Cheyenne, Brandon, Kylie, Caden, Kyle, Landen, Bennett, Shane, Anahlee and 7 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her dear mother, Anna Anderson of Westland; her siblings, Al Anderson of Florida, Debra (Scott) Schmidt of Canton, and Denise (Mike) Longshore of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen, and her father, John Cecil Anderson.
