Joan V. Turvey

TURVEY, Joan V.,  - Age 77 of Flint Twp. Was born into Eternal Life Saturday, September 6, 2003.  A Canadian native, she was born September 23, 1925 and entered the United States in 1953.  She had married Malcom Turvey in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1981.  She had at one time been a school bus driver for the Clarkston Schools.  She and her husband operated a produce stand on a farm in Swartz Creek.  Surviving are four sons: Randy Turvey and wife Christina of Grand Blanc, Monte Turvey and wife Martha of Flint, Dan Turvey and wife Cheri of Burton and Rick Turvey of Flint.  Also surviving are six grandchildren; Cindy Childress, Ryan Turvey, Joe Turvey, Danny Verdict, Tonya Verdict and Cheri II.  Six great-grandchildren; two sisters; Florence Koluk and Gladys Moon-Carpenter, both in Ontario, and a special friend Dr. Peter Babich.  Mrs. Turvey was preceded in death by her husband, six sisters and 2 brothers.  A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2003 at the Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just south of Hill Rd.).  The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time.  Memorial gifts in her name may be given to Harland Hospice or to the Humane Society.
