Joan Shipman

SHIPMAN, Joan Clara - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, died April 15, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Joan was born October 10, 1936 in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of George and Clara (Adair) Gallagher. She married Dean Curtis Shipman in Mount Morris on June 6, 1959. Joan was a homemaker who was also at one time employed at AC Spark Plug. She also volunteered as a caregiver for various nursing homes.Joan also enjoyed online computer games and Facebook, but most of all, Joan especially loved her family! Surviving are: sons, Barry Shipman and Don Shipman; grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas, Justin (Annett), and Jessica (Duraid Jamoua); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Dean, Mason, Gavin, and Olivia. She is also survived by Donna Shipman; her many friends; and her loving dogs, Simon, Ralph, Baby, and Harpo. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Dean on November 14, 1994.
