Joan Myrick

MYRICK, Joan Marie - 71, of Gaines, died Thursday, March 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, March 19, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Rob Prince officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Joan was born April 20, 1946 in Flint, the daughter of Lyman and Alice (Hill) Thompson. She married Gaylon Ray Myrick on November 26, 1966. Joan was an avid gardener and talented seamstress. She was very active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: husband, Gaylon of Gaines; two children, Michele (Scott) Meade of Swartz Creek, Jeffery Myrick of Bay City; five grandchildren, Kayla (William Jason) Murphy, Cody Meade (fiancée, Kristie Lawrence), Chelsea (Mitchell) Neumann, Travis Meade, and Garrett Myrick; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Paisley Murphy; two sisters, Doreen (George) Gawthrop of Flushing and Linda Gallos of Middletown, CT; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; and four siblings, Larry Thompson, Barbara Boone, Dolores Churchill, and Dale Thompson.
