Joan Luppino

Luppino, Joan Merle - Age 88, of Mundy Township, formerly of Montrose, died August 29, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, September 2 at Montrose United Methodist Church 158 E. State St. Montrose. Visitation will be held 1-6 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint; and from 10 AM Monday until the time of the service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army, Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, Montrose United Methodist Church, or the Humane Society of Genesee County. Joan was born January 8, 1931 in Flint, the daughter of Norman M. and Marjorie Fern (McDowell) Johnson. She married Nathan Luppino on December 29, 1956. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2010. Joan graduated from Montrose High School in 1948. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University and earned her Masters Degree from University of Michigan.She was school teacher for Montrose Township Schools for 26 years retiring in 1986. Joan enjoyed golfing. She was a member of Grand Blanc Methodist Church, former member of the Sons Of Italy, and also was a life member of O.E.S. Chapter 351 Montrose. Joan is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Donald) Christie of Farmington Hills; son, Norman M. Luppino of Sarasota, FL; 3 grandchildren: Donald (Alena), Jessica, and James; great-grandchildren: Julianna, Nathaniel, and Xander. She was preceded in death by her parents.
