Joan Helen LARZELERE

LARZELERE, Joan Helen Age 85, of Flint, died Friday, April 6, 2012 at Brian's House in Davison. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Woodside Church, 1509 E. Court St., Flint, Rev. James G. Kellermann officiating. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. She was born in Detroit, MI on May 1, 1926, the daughter of Fred and Thelma (Hill) Wood. Joan received a BA in Social Work and an MA in Education from Michigan State University. She married Kenneth E. Larzelere on September 11, 1948 in Detroit. She retired in 1987 as a Social Worker with the Flint Public Schools. Surviving are husband, Kenneth E. Larzelere; 2 sons, David (Katie) Larzelere of Brighton, MI, Jim (Cathy) Larzelere of Howell, MI; 2 daughters, Carol (Stephen) Larzelere-Kellermann of Lapeer, MI, Jo Ellen Larzelere of Flint; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Larzelere, Emily Kellermann, Christopher (Anna) Larzelere, David Kellermann, Teagan Larzelere; brother, Thomas (Muriel) Wood of Longmont, CO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Catherine Ducy of Sylvania, OH, Keith and Mary Lou Larzelere of Somerset, MI, Elinor and Kenton Reis of Sylvania, OH, Donald and Nancy Larzelere of Seguin, TX, Charles and Carlene Larzelere of Sylvania, OH; many nieces and nephews; cousins, Marilyn Christman of Pittsford, NY, Nancy and Dick Klein of Grand Rapids, MI; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Linda A. Larzelere in 1997. The family wishes to thank the staff of Brian's House in Davison for their kindness and support.
