Joan Finlayson

FINLAYSON, Joan Lane - Age 84, of Gaines, formerly of Detroit, passed away, August 3, 2020.

Joan was born, March 26, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of William Gladstone and Margaret Eleanor (Lane) Finlayson. Joan enjoyed a successful 36-year career with American Airlines, and retired as the Manager of Ticketing at Detroit Metro Airport. Upon her retirement, Joan moved to the “country”, where she met many new friends, whom she loved dearly. Joan had a special love of all animals, especially her dogs and cats. She enjoyed bowling with friends, gardening, crafting, and working with stained glass. Most importantly, Joan enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Gladstone Finlayson, Jr.; and sister, Eleanor A. Finlayson.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: William G. Finlayson III, Patricia (Jim) Slusher, Karen (Jeff) Goff, Cathy (Chris) Clegg, Julia Finlayson, and Amy Finlayson; also several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
