Joan Auten

AUTEN, Joan Marie -- Age 82, of Fenton, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, January 27 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, Rev. Audrey Charlton officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Saturday. Mrs. Auten was born November 9, 1925 in Little Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Knute A. and Garland Marie (Andrews) Carlson. She was a 1944 graduate of Grand Blanc High School. She had resided in the Fenton and Linden area for over 40 years. She married J.B. Auten on November 11, 1944 in Flint and he preceded her in death June 4, 1999. Mrs. Auten had worked for G.M. for 15 years. Surviving are: daughter, Cheryl and husband Larry May of Fenton; grandchildren, Adam and Kaylan Field of Fenton; step-grandchildren, Christopher May of Goodrich, Matthew May of Virginia, Lane May of Grand Blanc; five step-great-grandchildren, Owen, Riley, Gracie, Cole, and Lilly May; sister, Mary Hollinghead of Florida; brother-in-law, John Belford of Texas; and very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Auten; sisters, Jane Belford and Lois Carlques; and brother, Richard Carlson.
