Joan Aloson

ALOSON, Joan Elizabeth - age 87, of Flint, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday at the funeral home where a rosary will be prayed 7:30 PM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice. Joan was born February 9, 1921 in Flint, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Tota) Bednarski. She married Tony Aloson on January 7, 1961 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2006. Joan retired from St. Joseph Hospital as an LPN. Surviving are: sister, Josephine (Robert) Shields; nieces and nephews, Sheila (Dennis) Logan, Michael Bednarski, Randy (Cindy) Shields, Scott Shields, Dennis Shields, Judy (Ron) Hill, Leanne (Mike) Walker, Linda Johnson, Diane Tranter; many grand nieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; special friend, Virginia Forys. She was also preceded in death by: sister, Mary Knight; three brothers, Joseph and Edward Semkow and Mickey Bednarski.
