Jina Norko

NORKO, Jina- age 89 of Flint Township, passed away April 14, 2021. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11 AM Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing, with celebrant Fr. Anthony Brooks. The viewing will take place at 10 AM followed by the Rosary at 10:45 AM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Flint Powers Catholic High School or the Father Charles Jacobs Educational Trust Fund of St.
Roberts. Jina was born October 17, 1931 in Flint to Americo Pileri and Elena (Ragnone) Pileri. She married Edward P. Norko in Flint on September 6, 1952. She was a Flint Northern High School graduate. Jina worked for the Buick Motor Division Headquarters, Cromers restaurant, Masonic Temple and Italia Gardens. She was a proud member of the St. Robert Altar Society, and was also part of the McLaren Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. Jina loved crafts and knitting, and she was an excellent baker. Jina is survived by her loving husband, Edward, of 68 years; children; Anthony (Cynthia) Norko, Terrence (Deborah) Norko, Teresa (Bryan) Palmer, Brian (Melissa) Norko, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Norko; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne Canning; sister-in-law, Rosalie Pileri; several nieces and nephews; and her close friends, Ron and Marge Sielski. Jina was preceded in death by her parents, Americo and Elena Pileri; son, Timothy Norko; brother, Tony Pileri; her brother-in-law, Jack Canning, and grandson, Brandon Norko.
