Jimmie Ray Kirk

Jimmie Ray Kirk, age 75, of Flint Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, March 10 at the funeral home and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service Tuesday. Jimmie was born on May 25, 1949 in Flint, the son of the late Rabon "Ray" and Mary (Bennett) Kirk. He graduated from Flint Southwestern High School, class of 1967. Following his education, Jimmie began his apprenticeship as a Pipe Fitter, landing his job with GM Metal Fab in July of 1967. He worked for them for 57 years before his retirement in 2024. Jimmie and Nancy Scott were united in marriage on August 7, 1971 in Flint. They were blessed with two beautiful children. Jimmie loved spending time with his family and his cherished grandchildren. He loved taking the children for rides in the Model-T. He enjoyed his memorable time at the cottage on Rose Lake boating on the pontoon. Jimmie spent his free time snowmobiling, traveling with the family and trips to Mackinaw Island. He will be remembered for his mechanical skills; always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need. Jimmie had a big heart for several dogs over the years and will be missed by Sadie and Libby.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Kirk; son, Michael (Carley) Kirk; daughter, Michelle Kirk; grandchildren, Matthew and Grace Kirk; sister, Linda Kirk (John Hanks); and good friends, Larry and Kay Miller, and Mike and Carol McGarry.
