Jim Duane Lapp, age 77 of Fenton, passed away March 25, 2023, at the Hurley Medical Center in Flint. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, April 29, 2023 at United Church of God, 4043 Coldwater Road, Flint, MI 48504. Pastor Michael Phelps officiating, Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 SIlver Lake Road, Fenton.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; step-daughter, Tonya (Harold) Compton of Gaines, MI; grandchildren, Chelsi Hoskins of Morrice, MI, Bret (Rebecca Cole) Compton of Lennon, MI and Brooklyn Compton of Gaines, MI; great-grandchildren, Charles, Jonathan, Karlee, Weston, Aubree and Hunter; sister, Janet (Leon) Titler of Fort Mill, SC; nephew's, Eric (April) Titler of Richmond, VA and Brian (Sandi) Titler of Fort Mill, SC; 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
Jim was born on April 24, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Duane Earl and Louise (Smith) Lapp. He served our country with the United States Air Force and married Linda Kay Griffee on July 1, 1979 in Holly, Michigan. He was a member of The United Church of God-Flint, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and cartoon drawing. Jim was an avid gardener and he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
