EZELL, Jesse Willard  Age 88, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Emil Haering officiating. Interment will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home where a Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7 PM Wednesday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesys Hospice. Mr. Ezell was born July 16, 1916 in Dexter, MO, the son of John C. and Mamie (Helsley) Ezell and was a 1934 graduate of Flint Central High School. He married Florence Elta Bloss on June 5, 1937 and she preceded him in death in 1993. Mr. Ezell retired from AC Spark Plug in 1972 as a Machinist after 33 years of service. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1948 and spent winters in Zephyrhills, FL since his retirement. Mr. Ezell was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, Swartz Creek Kiwanis, F&AM #458, O.E.S #430 and assisted in organizing Demolay, past member of Swartz Creek Rotary, Swartz Creek Community Squares (Square Dancing Club) for 26 years and UAW Local #651. He served as a board advisor for the Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Board. Mr. Ezell served on Swartz Creek City Council from 1964-1968. He was the Mayor of Swartz Creek from 1967-1968 and served on the County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Ezell was Cub Scouts Master for 6 years and active in Explorers. He served on the Board of Directors and as President of Bahrs Mobile Home Park in Zephyrhills, FL. He was also active in other community events as a sponsor of the Swartz Creek Library and Swartz Creek Fine Arts Theater. Mr. Ezell was the Grand Marshall of the Swartz Creek Sesquicentennial in 1989 and he and his wife were the King and Queen of the City of Zephyrhills, FL in 1986. Surviving are: three sons, James W. Ezell of Grand Blanc, Robert W. Ezell and wife, Cynthia of Flint, Gary P. Ezell and wife, Sandra of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren, Mark, Ann, Shannon, Brian, Elizabeth, Jason, John and Allison; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
