Jerry Tanner

TANNER, Jerry Lee (Lester) - Age 85, passed away December 18, 2021. After a lifetime of health issues, she can finally rest in peace. A private burial will take place at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Jerry was born April 16, 1936 in Cardwell, MO, the daughter of William and Stella Lester. As a child, the family would go out to pick cotton in the fields. Times were tough, so when Jerry was 16, they moved to Flint, MI for the opportunity of better jobs. She graduated from Flint Central High School. She was employed as a bartender in various bars in the Flint area. She enjoyed bowling, cards, billiards and Nascar. She is survived by her sons, Frank Knapp Jr. and Donald (Linda) Knapp; granddaughter, Danielle Foland; grandson, Jeff Foland; sister, Polly Vaughn; nieces and nephews, Richard (Karen) Vaughn, Linda (Keith) Hesson, Anna Wallace; best friends, Susie Haley, Joanie and Mannie Balla; many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edward Tanner. Special thanks to Susie Haley and Joanie Balla for caring for Jerry over the years.
