Jerry Smith, Jr.

SMITH, Jerry Hugh, Jr. - age 64, of Ramsay, MI, died Thursday, June 28, 2018. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday. Interment of his cremated remains will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans. Jerry was born January 11, 1954. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a life long resident of Ramsay, MI. Jerry worked in White Pine Copper Mine and in the lumber industry in the Upper Peninsula for many years. Jerry was well known in Ramsay and Wakefield. He enjoyed fishing, darts, pool and especially horseshoes. Jerry was the kind of man that would give anyone the shirt off his back. Surviving are: two daughters, Melissa Smith of Ironwood, Jennifer Huntula of Rhinelander, WI; grandson, Joshua of Ironwood, MI; granddaughter, K.K. of Rhinelander, WI; three brothers, Terry (Fannie) Johnson of Linden, Mike Smith of Flint, and Roger Johnson of Davison; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Sandy; daughter, Tiffany, mother, Mildred Johnson, step-father, Roger Johnson, father, Jerry Smith, Sr., brother, Steve Smith and sister, Valerie Bruce.
