Jerry W. Parker

November 1, 1938 — February 12, 2006

PARKER, Jerry Wayne of Flint Twp. And St. Helen, Michigan sailed from our site on Sunday, February 12, 2006.  Jerry was the beloved son of Mary Frances Reed and Raymond Roy Parker, born to them one beautiful November day in 1938.  Jerry's full and happy life included Sally Irene Turnage his wonderful and supportive wife who has taken care of him and comforted him like no one else could.  His one and only, loving daughter,Tina Renee(Parker) Satkowiak and son-in-law & friend, Peter E Satkowiak, and the light of his life, his 'spoiled' granddaughter 'Sarah Lee Sarah Elizabeth Satkowiak. Jerry was faithful, kind, loving, helpful and funny and he had so many people caring and loving him.  His immediate family included: his only sister and brother-in-law Joyce & Robert Lynn. Brothers & sisters-in-law: Billy & Sue Parker, Philip & Sally Parker, Danny & June Parker. Sisters-in-law:  Betty Chapel, Donna Turnage; Mother-in-Law: Grandma Donna Turnage.  Jerry worked far to long at General Motors Metal Fab, but he did enjoy his job as a Crib Attendent and had many friends there.  He retired in 1997.  Jerry's life was really about his family and the joy he found in them.  He loved a great Canasta game, a sunny day on the pontoon in St.Helen, A sunny day anywhere really,  hunting and fishing with his brothers, golfing anytime, the sound of women cooking in the kitchen, (but he would do the dishes), an afternoon cup of coffee with his mom.  He was a simple man with a simple and fulfilling life.  The family of Jerry wishes to express gratitude and thankfulness at the expressions of love and thoughtfulness from: Stacy & John Evans, Mary Johnson, Jim & Sandy Johnson of St. Helen, all his special card playing & golfing buddies in St. Helen.  He was preceded in death by his mother & father, brother Wendell, nephew Stephen, mother-in-law Delia Duncan, father-in-law Jeptha (Jack) Turnage. 'I am standing upon the sea shore. A ship spreads her sails in the morning  breeze And starts across the blue ocean. I stand and watch waving and saying 'Goodbye' I stand there until someone says 'He's gone!' Sailed from my sight! But at that moment there are other Eyes watching him arrive and voices take Up the glad shout 'Here he comes!' Funeral services for Jerry will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. (Just South of Hill Rd.) with Pastor Richard Brennan officiating.  Services will conclude at the funeral home.  The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12 noon to 8 P.M. today and Thursday from 12 noon to 1:00 P.M.
