Jerry was born July 19, 1948 in Erwin, North Carolina to the late Walter Rufus and Reva Jane (Ryals) Norris. He proudly served his country in The United States Marine Corp. Jerry married Tammy Lee Leach on December 12, 1999 in Alachua, Florida and he worked for American Boat Carriers as a truck driver for 14 years before retiring in 2001. Jerry hauled yachts all around the country. He was a member of the Marine Corp League and he was also a Deacon at Collier's Chapel Community Church in Linden, NC.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Tammy of Flint; daughters, Nichole (Jimmy) Grimes of Lake City, FL., Amber Sparks of Erwin, NC.; son, Jerry Lee Norris; stepsons, David (Deniele) Gorlewski of Grand Blanc, Bruce Gorlewski of Flint; stepdaughters, Julie Gorlewski of Colorado, and Tara Dennis of Flint; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; sisters, Donna (Danny) Williams of Linden, NC., Teressa (Raymond) Silvas of Angier, NC. and Cami Viganas of Erwin, NC; brother, Michael Norris of Erwin, NC.; mother and father-in-law, Ricky and Linda Adams of Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter "Herbie" Herbert Norris; son-in-law, Timmy Sparks.
