HARKNESS, Jerry Lee, age 68, of Flint, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Township. Visitation will begin Sunday from 2:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church of ones choice Jerry was born the son of James and Ruby (King) Harkness in Burliston, TN on October 16, 1941. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married JoAnne Warden. Jerry had retired from GM and was a member of the UAW Local #659. After retiring he was a bus driver for Carman Ainsworth Community Schools and retired from there. Jerry was a member of the Faith Tabernacle and loved to fish. He is survived by wife, Joanne; 2 sons, Brian (Teresa) Harkness and children, Justin, Brian and Tiffany of North Carolina; son, Darren Harkness and children, Brittany, Paige, and Dylan of Flint; 4 stepchildren, Glen, Becky, Denise and Bill, many step-grandchildren; 2 brothers, James (Jean) and David (Denise) Harkness, sister, Helen (Dennis) Goodrow, many nieces and nephews, first wife Judy Harkness and he leaves his best friend, Baby Shadow.
