Jerry Scott DESHONG

DESHONG, Jerry Scott - age 73, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, December 18, 2009. Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Minister Mark Aites officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. De Shong was born September 18, 1939 in Flint, the son of Morris Floyd and Dorothy Louise (Rohlfing) De Shong. He received an associate's degree from U of M Flint and a bachelor's degree from GMI. Mr. De Shong married Ruth Marie Tarrant on October 21, 1966 in Flint and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2007. He retired from General Motors in 1986 as an Industrial Engineer after 34 years of service. Surviving are: 11 children; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
