Jerrie Johnson

JOHNSON, Jerrie Aileen - age 83, of Flint, died Monday, June 27, 2016 at Medilodge of Livingston. Services will be held 2 PM Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Dr. Brian Stogner officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Michigan Christian Youth Camp, 820 N. Lake George Road, Attica, MI 48412. Mrs. Johnson was born November 18, 1932 in Cardwell, MO, the daughter of Everett and Hilda (Newton) Harrison. She was a graduate of Flint Technical High School and received a bachelor degree from U of M, Flint. Jerrie married Charles Ray Johnson on January 6, 1951 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2010. Mrs. Johnson retired from Flint Public Schools as a teacher. She previously worked at AC Spark Plug as a secretary. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Bristol Road Church of Christ and past member of Averill Avenue Church of Christ and Court Street Church of Christ. She was a past volunteer at the Food Bank at Averill Avenue Church of Christ, a member of the Burton Senior Center and past board member of Valley Christian Academy. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed reading, playing cards and traveling and had visited 49 States. Surviving are: three son, Matthew C. Johnson of TN, Timothy P. (Susan) Johnson of Flint, Michael A. (Billie) Johnson of Flint; three grandchildren, Andrew (Rachel) Johnson, Jennifer (Dr. Daniel) Eisinger, and Elizabeth Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Everett, Walker Anne, and Malaya; two sisters, Joyce Harrison of Oscoda, Sandra (Phil) Frost of Davison; several nieces and nephews and many other family members.
