AMMERMAN, Jerome Charles - age 91, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his residence. Private family services have been held. He was born December 21, 1925 in Flint. In 1950, he married Doris Patricia Harvey. Mr. Ammerman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II fighting in the Pacific. He later was called up to fight with the U.S. Army on the front lines in the Korean War. After returning home from war, Jerry was employed by General Motors and retired in 1984 after 34 years of service. Surviving are: four children, Jerry (Diane) Ammerman of FL, Evelyn (Ken) Peterson of Caseville, Sharon Wood of Swartz Creek and Jack (Loanna) Ammerman of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren, Jerry (Katie) Ammerman II, Ryan Peterson, Scott (Tammy) Peterson, Heather Wood, Kevin (Ashlie) Wood, Kristen (Steve) Guel, Jack Ryan Ammerman, and Jay Ammerman; seven great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Pat; and his son-in-law, Ross Wood.
