Jerald Carb

CARB, Jerald Edwin - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Brenda Ethridge officiating. Burial will be held 2:30PM January 3, 2018 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 4PM-7PM Friday and 10AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to U of M Cancer Center Fund (UMCCC). Jerald was born in Flint on October 24, 1938 the son of the late Wilson C. and Ruth (Vanwagnor) Carb. He married Betty Wellington in Flint on February 15, 1975. Jerald enjoyed bowling, watching Detroit Red Wings Hockey, playing cards and dancing. He proudly served his country in the Army, being stationed in Germany. Jerald retired from General Motors Cadillac Plant, Grand Blanc with 35.7 years of service. Surviving are: wife of 42 years, Betty Carb of Swartz Creek; children, Daniel K. (Lisa) Whitehead of Canton, Patricia A. Whitehead of IN; grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Whitehead, Zachary Kopf; sisters, Norma Lumsden, Dora Pusey, Ethel Swain and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Ringler, Dorthy Abdella, Jan Shimmons, Donna Wing, Jan Nelson; brothers, Wilson Carb, Ralph Carb, Nelson Carb.
