Jeannette Cameron

CAMERON, Jeannette Patricia - Age 74, of Lapeer, joined her husband, Ken on January 10, 2017. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 12-5 PM at the Elba Township Hall, 4717 Lippincott Rd., Lapeer. Jeannette was born February 14th, 1942 to Peter and Julia (Fitzer) Kovatch in her grandma's house on Atkins Road in Port Huron, Michigan. She grew up on her parent's farm and remained a farmgirl at heart throughout her life. She met the love of her life, Kenneth John Cameron at a dance in Peck and after a true whirlwind courtship they married on April 4th, 1964 in Lakeport, Michigan. They settled on a farm in Lapeer in 1975 and raised their family there. Jeannette was more than a housewife, she was a crafter, a farmer, a builder, an innovator, mom, wife, friend to many, and she even had a patent for her handiholder invention. Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Leclercq; son, Kenneth (Kip) Cameron and his wife Kim; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Christopher) Robinson, Skyler and Baylei Cameron, Cayden Leclercq, Caleb and Alyssa Herron, and her pride and joy, great- grandson Cameron Robinson; brother, Frank (Rhea) Kovatch and special friends, Diane, Cindy, Joy, Jane, Tracy Layman and sister/cousins Rosie and Emma. Jeannette was preceded in death by her soulmate, Ken; son, Keith; brothers, Timothy, Ronald and Donald Kovatch and her parents.
