Jeanne Candy

CANDY, Jeanne Elaine - Age 86, of Swartz Creek/Brooksville, FL, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022.  Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Pastor Jim Nelson officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to Olive Branch Senior Assisted Living, P.O Box 77,  Perry, MI 48872, Harmony Cares Home Health, 2205 Jolly Road, Okemos, MI 48864-3983, or a charity of your choice.

Jeanne was born January 26, 1936 in Flint, the daughter of Clarence Harmon and Edith Eleanor (Smith) Vredevoogd.  She was a 1954 graduate of Mary Crapo High School (Swartz Creek ).  She married James A. Candy September 7, 1965 and he preceded her in death October 4, 2009.  Jeanne was employed by McLaren Flint as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She was a member of the Swartz Creek Jobs Daughter's and Eastern Stars.  She was a volunteer for hospice in Florida.  She enjoyed singing, gardening, quilting, needlework.

Surviving are: her children, James (Kathy) Candy of Grand Blanc, Timothy (Vicki) Candy of Williamston, David Candy of Florida, Mark Candy of West Branch, and Shelli Candy of Grand Blanc; 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, James (Jeanette) Vredrevoogd of Florida and William (Pam) Vredrevoogd of Suttons Bay; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elizabeth Freman; and sister, Barbara Vredevoogd.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
