BOWLES, Jeannette C. "Jan"-- Age 88, of Linden, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Caretel Inns of Brighton. Services will be held 12 PM Monday, April 14, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden with Rev. Parker Smith and Rev. Donald Neuville officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Linden Presbyterian Church of Loose Senior Citizens Center. Jeannette was born in Detroit, October 8, 1919 the daughter of Louis and Mary (Parker) Szekeres. She graduated from Fenton High School in 1938 and married Gerald B. Bowles in Linden on September 11, 1938 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1995. Jeannette and Gerald lived in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area for many years before returning to Linden in 1981. Jeannette was a member of Linden Presbyterian Church, Linden O.E.S. #175, Linden Historical Society and the Chrysler Grandmothers Club in Ann Arbor. She was employed by the Chrysler Corporation in Ann Arbor of 30 years and retired as the secretary to the Personnel Manager. Surviving are: sons, Robert G. and wife, Janet of Linden, Donald R. and wife, Joanne of Howell; three grandchildren, Deborah Carpenter of Linden, Robert J. and wife, Kristi of Troy, Gregory and wife, Kristen of Linden; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda, Robin, Evan, Jacquelyn, Jordan, Bryan, Benjamin and Sean; sisters-in-law, Irene Bowles and Emma Lou Burgess; several nieces and nephews.
