Jean Agnes Welch

January 7, 1917 — April 27, 2004

WELCH, Jean Agnes  Age 87, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Flint or the American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Welch was born January 7, 1917 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Glenn and Mary (Miller) Martin. She married J. Murray Welch on December 24, 1941 in Flint and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1975. Mrs. Welch was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and a 1938 graduate of Hurley School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Hurley, McLaren and General Motors. Mrs. Welch was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint, The Flint Travel Club, Occupational Nurses Association, Hurley Alumni Association, I.B.G. Retirees and Chevrolet Active Retirees Club. Surviving are: son, Kirk G. Welch and wife, Ruth of AZ; four grandchildren, Brain A. Welch and wife, Michelle of Burton, Jennifer Welch of Mason, Todd G. Welch and wife, Amy, Kara L. Welch, all of AZ; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter brother, Richard A. Martin and wife, Clara Ann of Flushing; dear friend, Fern Glenn of Grand Blanc; many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; son, Craig M. Welch; two brothers, David and Robert Martin; grandson, Michael C. Welch. Friends may share their online condolences or post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
