Jean A. Stackpole

Stackpole, Jean Ann - age 90 of Swartz Creek, died August 18, 2023. Services will be held 1 PM Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Special Olympics. Jean was born January 30, 1933, in Carleton, Michigan, where she lived throughout her youth. While attending Airport High School, she met the love of her life, and married Cecil Stackpole in 1954. They lived in Carleton, MI for a few years, as well as Port Huron, MI before spending 35 years raising their family in Swartz Creek, MI. Early on, Jean was a secretary for the Superintendent at Monroe Schools. She also worked at EMU for 2 years before having her first child at which time her primary focus became raising her children, which included score keeper for little league games; helping with Brownies and Girl Scouts and baking for the neighborhood kids. Once Jean's kids were raised, she took employment at U of M-Flint and AC Spark Plug. In 1995, Jean and Cecil retired and moved to Oscoda, MI where they built their dream home on Lake Huron. Jean enjoyed her long walks on the beautiful sandy beach, gardening, and baking. Jean had a love for painting, mostly outdoor wilderness and water views. Her family now treasures these paintings. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Clara Schuon; brothers, Walter, Jack and Jerry; sister, Betty; and beloved husband, Cecil. Surviving are: son, Pete (Luann) Stackpole; daughter, Connie (Dan) Doolan; daughter, Kelly (Greg) Stackpole-Bock, and son, Dave Stackpole; grandchildren, Katie, Adam, Dani, Tony, Breanna, Dylan, and Devin.
