SMITH-BUTTERY, Jean M. - Age 68, of Fenton, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Unity Christian Church, 5255 S. Linden Road, Swartz Creek, with Pastor Brenda Etheridge officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Jean was born December 7, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of John and Lucy (Marsh) Mattiuz. She married Robert W. Buttery June 26, 1993 in Flint Township. She had resided in Fenton for the past 17 years coming from Flushing. Jean was a substitute teacher for the Fenton Area Schools. She was a member of Unity Christian Church. Surviving are: husband, Robert; 3 children, Devon Smith and wife Christina Mexicotte of Clinton Township, Jenifer Buttery of Warren and Jeremy Buttery and Kelly Welty of Phoenix, AZ; grandson, Edward Buttery of Warren; sister, Janice Bush-Wood and husband John Wood of Elk Grove, MN; 3 brothers, Ted and wife Ann Mattiuz of Safety Harbor, FL, Tom and wife Vicki Mattiuz of Maple Grove, MN and Richard Mattiuz of Tampa, FL; cousin, Vicki and husband John Bertilino of Evansburg, PA; several nieces and nephews.
