Jean Marie Riutta

RIUTTA, Jean Marie  Age 95, of Flushing, died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at Avalon Hospice. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday, September 13, 2004 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint with Fr. Douglas Osborn celebrant. The family will receive friends from 4-9 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed at 5 PM Sunday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. John Vianney Catholic Church Memorial Fund or Avalon Hospice. Mrs. Riutta was born August 5, 1909 in Lake Linden, MI, the daughter of Thomas L. and Blanche A. (Cummings) Bissonette. She married Arne A. Riutta on January 9, 1937 in Flint and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1981. She has resided in Flushing since 1981 coming from Flint. Mrs. Riutta was a graduate of Grace Hospital in Detroit and retired from St. Joseph Hospital in 1972 where she was a registered nurse. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She was the beloved mother of: four children, Thomas Riutta and wife, Bonnie of Brighton, James Riutta and wife, Sharon of Flint, Mary and husband, John Budnick of Hudsonville, MI, Anne and husband, Raymond Ploucha of Flushing; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; grandson, James Riutta, Jr.; brother, Thomas P. Bissonette.
